Indie pop duo, Skinnydip, is comprised of childhood friends, Sandro Buccellati and Jon Hill from New York. In the Fall of 2017 the two moved to Los Angeles to pursue music full time. Call It Off, first of many upcoming releases, features silky-pop vocals from California native, Claire Brooks. The collaboration seems to find a happy medium between commercial and indie through fusing Skinnydip’s crisp-analog, heavily-guitar oriented sound along with luscious Hook’s from Brooks, herself. The duo cites diverse influences of other notable acts such as Led Zeppelin, Tame Impala, and MGMT while also adhering to an 80’s synth-esc timbre familiar to French Pop-Rock group, Phoenix.
