Heartsick – Loveletter (Spotify)

Michigan metallers embrace their tender side on mezmerizing new single ‘Loveletter’

Heartsick recently released their stunningly cathartic new single ‘Loveletter’, which finds the Michigan quartet at their haunting and emotive best.

Taken from the upcoming sophomore album ‘Sleep Cycles’ and having already underlined their heavier side on the previously release tracks ‘Mike and Drew’ and ‘Snakeman’, Heartsick show their diversity on a song that contains spine-tingling guitar rhythms and distorted vocals from Alfonso Civile- effortlessly delivered with heart-warming devotion.

Written about Civile’s father, ‘Loveletter’ emphasizes the pair’s bond perfectly, as the influential frontman explains, “Everyone has their so-called fictional heroes; my dad just happens to be mine, and he’s the real deal.” As listeners absorb the lyrical content whilst thinking about their feelings towards their own father, ‘Loveletter’ is guaranteed to become a firm favorite amongst Heartsick’s ever-increasing fan base.

With a line-up rounded off by Jerred Pruneau (guitars), Waylon Fox (bass) and Justin Robinson (drums), Heartsick launched themselves out of Lansing, Michigan in 2015 with the release of their self-titled debut album; bringing a sound that intertwined some bruising metal with flourishes of hardcore and moments of sumptuous melodies. The band’s follow-up record ‘Sleep Cycles’ is set for an independent release in February, 2019 and it looks set to enhance Heartsick’s soundscape with a more diverse and mature offering.

Heartsick have previously shared stages with internationally acclaimed acts such as Hatebreed, Every Time I Die, Fear Factory and All That Remains.
